I’m going to go ahead and wish you a Happy Black History Month. To keep it real, we need to celebrate Black History every month, every day. As a people, I think we are doing a great job of highlighting our achievements all year long. Now that the girls are getting older and can better understand, I’m going to do my best to understand why Black History is so important but it won’t be easy.
Happy Black History Month! I know I’m late but it’s still February. I really think Black History Month should be a year-round initiative but this is the time where schools and businesses take the time to spotlight American Black History. I’m not going to leave it up to the school to teach my daughter about Black History. It’s my job to share with her the significant contributions that black people have made to our country. I’ve pulled together a few kid-friendly ways you can celebrate Black History Month (year) with your kids.
It’s amazing when beautiful ladies you know in real life do something epic! My friends from the Style Influencer Group, Lexi from Lexi with the Curls, Jessica from Glamazon Blog and Christina from Love Brown Sugar have created something amazing just in time for Black History Month! They brought together a group of social influential women to recreate images of black iconic women in Black History. The icons these women are representing have played some kind influential role in all our lives no matter what color you are.
